My New Installation references snap shots I found of the New Orleans World's Fair in a Baton Rouge thrift store. I attended the fair as a teen and immediately recognized the images. The resulting paintings I made merge imagery from the found photos as well as my own memory of the fair. These art works are oil and acrylic on plexiglass with reverse painting. The transparency of the painting surface relates to the photographic process of the source material-- creating both a dissolving quality and visual uncertainty ultimately referencing both history and memory.
